just one of my favorite songs ever right there. I still have this recorded on VHS along with every other 120 minutes from the 92-96 or so. Only way I could reliably catch it. I can hear the studio microphones weeping happily

I fucking love Hum, seriously. These guys made my high school years bearable.
They came here to Austin just about a month ago (they occasionally come out of retirement to play one-off shows here and there), and I was in line to see the show when the fucking venue got raided by Code Enforecement. The venue had about 400-600 people out front, about 200 people inside, and a legal occupancy of... 47.
I guess Hum still played that night; they shuffled 40 people in for two songs, then another 40 for two more, then another 40 for two more. Or you could stand in the alley behind the venue and listen over the wall.

Yeah me too (re high school)! These guys and Sunny Day Real Estate... Would have liked to see them live; where they at SXSW?

It was the weekend before SXSW kicked off. They were performing as part of The Pygmalion Festival (i have no clue what that is all about).
Sad things was, it was a free show too. I didn't think there were so many people who knew about them.
I always liked Sunny Day Real Estate when i heard them, but never got into them. Failure was another similar band that I enjoyed but never followed up on.
